Interpersonal Skills Training

Interpersonal skills are key to all successful interactions in the workplace. They make or break any project, plan, or team. They are essential for successful interactions between managers, supervisors, and employees. Difficulties in this area can make life difficult for all involved and can sabotage the best-laid business or work plan. They are skills that can be learned, and that make a tremendous difference for productivity in the workplace!

As a result of this training you will be able to
  • Communicate effectively
    • Give clear verbal and nonverbal messages
    • Listen and ask questions effectively
    • Check for understanding as speaker and as listener
  • Establish rapport and build great relationships at work
  • Deal effectively with conflict–or even prevent it
  • Give and receive feedback
  • Handle emotions–yours and others
  • Develop your understanding of how you react to people and situations, and of the consequences of your behaviors
  • Adapt your behaviors to meet the needs of particular people and situations
  • Use a 5-step method for problem solving and staying in charge of any discussion
  • Be more productive in all your work endeavors
The course is participatory (rather than lecture), skill building, and fun. We use reflection, dyads, small group work, video clips, and large group discussion. The training actively engages participants with lots of skill practice, role plays, and feedback, so that these skills quickly become habits rather than just a training. Our use of solid adult education techniques and our skill in tailoring the course to the needs of the group gives us a proven track record of success.
