So I've Got to Work with You? or
UNDERSTANDING THE OTHER GENDER

When it seems like men and women are from different planets, how on Earth do we manage to work together? We’re all somehow expected to figure this out. Women and men in organizations are more successful when they understand the forces that shape the other gender’s lives, the reasons for those forces, and how the forces play out in the workplace. In this interactive and engaging session, you will gain insight and learn personal tips for effective interactions with women or men, respectively.

As a result of these presentations and workshops you will be better able to
  • understand and appreciate gender differences, resulting in strengthened relationships, mutual respect, and trust.
  • communicate effectively with the other sex at work and at play.
  • identify specific situations in your workplace where misunderstandings between the sexes are likely to occur.
  • develop appropriate personal strategies to deal with gender differences in your business interactions, in dealing with emotions, and in handling conflict.
Content
  • Cultural differences between males and females
  • Female and male conditioning
  • Males’ and females’ styles of communicating, dealing with emotions, and handling conflict
  • Skills for effective business interactions with the opposite sex
  • Action items for further improvement of skills and performance in a business environment

Here’s what people have said about our workshop on gender:

Your workshop on gender was such a wonderful and powerful workshop. I left thinking that this has got to be presented in every corporation in America! How had we managed this long without it?!? Revealing to the group how the conditioning process really does impact us all was an eye opener.

I saw fellow participants excited, involved and filled with the need to express (males as much as females). Your assignments for the participants were simple and engaging but they also opened a door of opportunity for people to share and express without being threatened or intimidated. Many of the participants were meeting for the first time. The involvement was amazing!

One of the things I most appreciated was your sensitivity to your audience as a facilitator. You were open, gentle, and unbiased, and you embraced the participants right to have their perspective whatever the majority thought about that perspective. One gentleman (during time for feedback) stood up to express his feelings. The moment he spoke he seemed to put his foot in his mouth and the guys were telling him to sit down. You looked at him and said that his view was valid, because it was his perspective and how he interprets things. I thought that was so powerful, especially since you are a woman. You indicated that he had the right to convey things from his experience and his interpretation (I’m paraphrasing).

The time with you went so fast. We all decided the workshop was just too short.
